Finding the Time

Now that I started going back to school, I noticed how valuable my time really is to me. In addition to work and school, I still need to devote time to working on my business. This Sunday, my church will bring in a guest speaker who is a Sr. Pastor at a church in Ohio. I was reading this gentleman's biography and I was shocked by his background. He is a millionaire and owns 11 car/truck franchises, a shopping center and an insurance agency. In addition to all of that, he is a Sr. Pastor of a church, chairs committees and does consulting work. Lastly, I almost forgot he wrote 4 books! Before, I was wondering how I would find the time to manage all my responsibilities. After reading his biography, I said to myself, if this man can find the time to run several companies, a church, write four books and raise a family, then I can make the time to pursue my passions. As I stated in my last posting "Eliminate Excuses" stop making excuses and just go for it. Since I am passionate about growing my business, I will find the time to pursue it no matter what the cost.I look forward to hearing this man speak and learning from his journey. If he can find the time to pursue his passions and dreams then you can too.

Tip of the Day: Try to find a person who is successful with your similar background. Even if you cannot meet this person, try to read books about their life and how they pursued their passions to find out what you can learn from them.

Eliminate Excuses

I finally made a big step toward following my dreams and passions. This was my first week of classes at design school! My first class was Intro to Fashion Merchandising. Even though the class was after work from 6-10pm, I was not bored or tired. Since, I am passionate about this subject, hearing about the history of fashion fascinated me. Another thing I noticed, I was not the oldest person in class. I felt a little apprehensive prior to my first day of classes, because of my age. But I noticed people of various ages. Even the instructor stated that she went back to design school after her daughter graduated high school. Some people would use excuses such as their age from moving forward toward their dreams. I attended a lecture by Wayne Dyer this past Friday and he talked about excuses and how they can sabotage your life. It was an excellent lecture on the importance of moving past your excuses. This lecture was powerful for me and pushed me toward eliminating excuses from my life.

Tip of the day: If I can work toward eliminating these saboteurs (excuses) out of my life, so can you.
